Perspective:

I was in my second day of a silent meditation retreat at age 19 and I thought I was going to go completely insane as I sat still for the millionth hour on end when I suddenly noticed that my body seemed to come alive from the inside when deprived of external movement. I will never forget the delight of discovering that below the surface of my everyday mind, my body was a vibrant source of constantly shifting phenomena. From that moment, I became fascinated by how the body constantly organizes, heals and regrows itself, and how engaging in that process with consciousness can open new possibilities for presence and vitality. In my practice, I combine attunement with the body's innate wisdom and honed skills in dealing with tissue, bone and nervous system as a means of engaging in a dynamic process for growth, pain relief, relaxation and discovery. I blend Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Polarity Therapy, Nervous System regulation techniques and massage to meet the individual needs of each client.

What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle, subtle touch therapy that works in tune with the natural resources of the body to resolve tension, accumulated trauma and address injuries. Developed out of Osteopathy, Craniosacral Therapy began with the discovery that the bones of the skull are constantly being "breathed" by some unknown mechanism, rhythmically expanding and contracting over a miniscule distance. It was discovered that when this movement was present and flowing in a full range of motion, health was more accessible and people were able to recover from a range of conditions. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy functions from the belief that the body is capable of tremendous healing, in and of itself. In a biodynamic modality, the practitioner works with deep, somatic listening to reflect and support the body as it is, allowing that simple reflection to act as the impetus for healing. Through this process, the body is able to gently unwind injuries and find resilience and repair from anxiety, emotional strain and trauma.
